Launching Dialogue at Gayaza High School

Going back to the beginning to find a path to the future is an unofficial tagline used with the Young Innovator Award.

In August 2013, the YIA Student Contest was launched in Gayaza High School with a dialogue between the organisers and the students. We enjoyed a warm reception and had a very engaging discussion with the young ladies. !

How to Take Part

Are you a Ugandan designer or developer of eco products or technologies? We are offering you the opportunity to participate in an international commercial exhibition. Contact ExhibitionService for details.

Register to participate in the ICDF™ under any of the five(5) categories of; Energy, Architecture, Furniture & Interiors, Textiles & Fashion and Innovative Technology. We are encouraging designers to creeate innovative solutions that will not only address an environmental challenge but also answer an aestetic and lifestyle need. With over 100 exhibitors and 8000 visitors spread across the various fields of design, participating in the ICDF™ will be a great opportunity for your business. Dazzling exhibition dsplays, Opening night networking cocktail party, extensively distributed Exhibition Catalogue, extensive media and Advertising campaign are some of the features our Exhibitors will enjoy.

The Designers & Developers

We are bringing the best and biggest local talent together in a single multifaceted Design trade and retail exhibition. Go to the ExhibitionCatalogue to meet them.

Innovation & Sustainability

We are seeking for designers and developers who can identify and produce innovative and lasting solutions to modern day challenges brought on by prevailing environment and climate change factors. We encourage the designers to provide high quality sustainable products that do not lack in beauty or function.

Focus on your market

Remember that whereas trade exhibitions are a great opportunity to meet and make new clients, a poorly planned product and display will draw little to no visitors which translates into less sales and an unsuccessful show. Prepare and plan for the role you will play at the ICDF™ exhibition.

The benefits are

With the large variety of visitors being targeted, who are not only local buyers but also international developers, there is a lot to be gained by participating. Talks and workshops by prominent players in the fields of design and environment, are being organised for the duration of the exhibition. An Opening Night networking cocktail is a great opportunity to meet and make new contacts for your business.

Our Philosophy

We are a young and vibrant team of professionals in Uganda with over ten(10) collective years of experience in the fields of design and events. We are passionate about design and the youth and through the ICDF™ we are seeking to merge these two components in identifying solutions for the environment and climate change challenges faced by communities across our nation especially in the rural areas.

We believe that solutions identified and developed by communities or their citizens have a better chance of having a positive impact as opposed to those adopted from outside.

We have therefore decided to organise the Young Innovator Award in an effort to engage the youth in this and the International Contemporary Design Fair. These two events will attempt to promote the development of innovative and sustainable eco-solutions for Uganda.
